Indian cricket team selectors has decided to rest seniors for short India tour of Zimbabwe for ODI and T20 Series, which allows young Indian team to showcase their talent at international level. Lead by the captain cool MR.MS Dhoni, who missed last three tours of Zimbabwe. Sanjay Banger has been appointed asIndian head Coach for this tour.
Tour begins on Saturday at Harare, which is also going to host all other matches of the tour. Half of the Indian team is having debutants and players who played less than 15 matches. Importantly majority of team is having uncapped players who performed really well in IPL 2016. It is crucial series for MS Dhoni as there are many questions raised on his abilities. Rayadu who played well in the last two tours against Zimbabwe has to grab this opportunity to cement his position in team, and same applies for the Manish Pandey. Despite of having bright future this two players couldn’t capitalise the situations and chances they got. It wouldn’t be difficult task for MSD to pick the final XI.
Problems of Zimbabwe cricket team is not known to anyone. Despite of being in international Cricket for long time they couldn’t show any improvement over years like Bangladesh, once they have won test matches against India in India, but things didn’t develop as they expected. Basically they are playing very little international cricket and Domestic Cricket is also not to the mark and with these kind of preparations are not enough at international level. Panyangara injury have hurt the team chances and now their only hope is Masakadza, Raza and Sean Williams who performed well against India in the 2015 tour. If any of the key players fail then it would be very difficult for the Zimbabwe to give even tough fight. Zimbabwe needs to believe in themselves to give best efforts to fight with the young India.
Players to look: You can watch Lokesh Rahul who had amazing ipl season this year, MS Dhoni who is trying get into touch with his lost charm, Rayudu and Manish Pandey.
Based on the history Harare Pitch is not high scoring ground and it is slow track. Batting first or second won’t make much difference on this ground. But Patience is key to success on this kind of tracks.
